TIFTON - John Charles Milton, 66, of Tifton died Friday, Oct. 31, 2014, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Warren Chesser and Father Paul O'Connell officiating. Mr. Milton will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald with Father Paul O'Connell officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
John David Powers, Steve Powers, Chris Milton, Andy Cooper, Craig Saunders and Daniel Clary will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Milton was born on Dec. 2, 1947 in Ocilla and was the son of Mary Lois Nolan Milton of Ocilla and the late Charles Harley Milton. He was the owner of Interstate Batteries of South Georgia and of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and his grandchildren were the light of his life.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Milton is survived by his wife and best friend, Polly Powers Milton of Tifton; a son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Andrea Milton of Tifton; a daughter, Christi Milton Grubbs of Waverly Hall; a brother and sister-in-law, Harley and Vicki Milton of Tifton; and three grandchildren, John Silas Grubbs, Hannah Grubbs and Gabriel Milton.
