    LINCOLNTON-Della Beatrice Howell Hamrick McCutchen, 96, of South Academy Street, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, at Hospice of the Valley Sherman Home in Phoenix, Arizona.

    She was born Sept. 4, 1914, in Darlington County, S.C., to the late Newton and Miriam Wilkes Howell.

    She graduated from Asheville Normal and Teachers College and was an elementary school teacher for 30 years in the Cleveland and Lincoln county school systems.

    In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, and father of their children, Dillard S. Hamrick of Fallston, and by her husband Sid McCutchen of Lincolnton; her sister, Clarice Sigmon; brothers, Edsel Howell and J.B. Howell, and nephews, James Howell and Michael Howell.

    She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Charles Perry of Marietta, Ga., Arreta Hamrick and Richard Bednarski of Scottsdale, Ariz. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Alvin (Ab) Hamrick of Fallston; sister-in-law, Lou Alice Whisnant of Shelby; nieces and nephews, Bill Hicks, Betty Potts, Edsel Howell, Ronnie Howell, Dennis Howell, Jane Spangler, Jean Brooks, Bill Hamrick, Betsy Hord, Nancy Isenhour and JoeWhisnant.

    Visitation: The family will receive friends from 1-1:45 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home

    Funeral: 2 p.m. Sunday in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel

    Burial: Rose Hill Cemetery, Fallston
