Mrs. Lola Rhymer Norris, 92, of Lake City, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday afternoon August 20, 2010, in the Haven Hospice of the Suwannee Valley. Mrs. Norris was a lifelong resident of Columbia County. She was born at Benton, a turpentine settlement in the Northern area of the County, on January 2, 1918 to the late Raymond & Organ Robinson Rhymer. Mrs. Norris met and married her late husband of fifty-six years, Davis Norris and together they had seven children. Mrs. Norris was a homemaker and very much enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking and especially spending time with her family. Mrs. Norris was a longtime member of the Deep Creek Advent Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Mary Ann Norris and a great-grand daughter, Angie Register.
She is survived by her children, Alice & Ray Cheshire; Jerry & Shirley Norris; John David & Jackie Norris; Carolyn & George Moseley; Jane & Edward Ritch all of Lake City and Evelyn & Albert Register of LaCrosse, Florida; and a brother, Sellers Rhymer of Chillacothe, Ohio. Sixteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Norris will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 25, 2010 in the chapel of the Dees-Parrish Family Funeral Home with Rev. Howard Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the Scott Cemetery (located off of US 441 North at the Deep Creek Advent Christian Church). The family will receive friends in the chapel of the funeral home from 5-7:00 Tuesday evening. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Haven Hospice of the Suwannee Valley 6037 US Highway 90 West, Lake City, FL 32055.

Sellers “John” Ossel Rhymer, 92, of Chillicothe, died 2:32 am, September 20, 2018 at his residence, following a brief illness.
He was born April 20, 1926 in Lake City, FL to the late Raymond and Organ Robinson Rhymer. On February 22, 1947 he married Millie Ratzlaff, who died November 20, 2002.
Survivors include a son, Steve (Connie) Rhymer, of Chillicothe and a granddaughter, Sherri Rhymer, of Wellston. He was preceded in death by numerous siblings.
Mr. Rhymer was a self taught carpenter, building his own home, and several other structures. He was a US Navy World War II veteran. He loved working and spending time in his yard. He worked in roadway construction and retired from Ratlaff Construction in 1992.
Private graveside services were held in Grandview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to National Church Residences-Hospice, 142 University Dr., Chillicothe, OH 45601 or the Ross Co. Humane Society, 2308 A Lick Run Rd., Chillicothe, OH 45601.

Mr. John David Norris, 63, a lifelong resident of Columbia County, died early Wednesday morning, January 8, 2014 in the Haven Hospice of the Suwannee Valley following a brief illness. Mr. Norris was the son of the late David and Lola Rhymer Norris. He owned and operated John Norris Construction until his death. He will forever be remembered as a very skilled carpenter. Mr. Norris was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Deep Creek Advent Christian Church. Mr. Norris was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Ann Norris.
He is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Jackie Norris; a son, Bubba Norris (Becky); daughters, Tonya Tomlinson (Tom) and DeeDee Norris all of Lake City; a brother, Jerry Norris (Shirley) and sisters, Evelyn Register, Jane Ritch, Carolyn Moseley (George) and Alice Cheshire (Ray) all of Lake City. Nine grandchildren, Rocky “Tom” Tomlinson, Jonathan Norris (Ragan), Sara Norris, Dustin Tomlinson, J.D. Norris, Jacey Deese (Josh), Kali Kitaif, Katlyn Reid and Crystal Norris and his three great-grandchildren, Ella Norris, Emma Foran and Lane Norris. Numerous other family members and friends also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Norris will be conducted at 3:30 P.M. on Saturday, January 11, 2014, in the Chapel of the Dees-Parrish Family Funeral Home with Rev. Howard Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the Scott Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 Friday evening in the Chapel of the funeral home. Active pallbearers will include John Thomas, Clint Bradley, Mike Roberts, Trent Giebeig, John Alfred Murray and Ronnie Hughes.
