Died:
Sybil Barnard, 75, died peacefully Sunday morning, December 19, at her residence surrounded by her family. The Tattnall County native had lived in Collins all her life. She was a faithful believer and a member of Full Gospel Tabernacle Church in Collins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Barnard; a son, Johnny Barnard; and a daughter, Geneva Barnard.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Barbara Barnard and Tommy and Diana Barnard, all of Collins; a daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Sam Busby of Reidsville; a sister, Dean Boyett of Collins; three brothers: Jack Dees of Collins, Reginald Dees of Port Wentworth, and Larry Dees of Rome; eight grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 21, in the chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home. The Reverends Andrew Nelms, Greg Smith, and Gary Page officiated. Grandsons served as pallbearers. Interment was in Rogers Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins.
