William “Mr. Mac” McKinley Steedley, 88, of Landis, NC passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte, NC.
William was born Sept. 29, 1919 in Bacon County, Georgia the son of the late Marvin N. Steedley and Samantha Turner Steedley and was educated in the Bacon County, Ga Schools, Veteran of World War II serving in the US Army, former Plant Supervisor for Carolina Mobile Homes, had worked for and retired from Food Lion as the Sanitation Supervisor. William was a Charter member of Dayspring Community Church, China Grove, Prayer Warrior for the Church, leading supporter of missions, former Deacon and Children’s Church Teacher.
Survivors: Wife; Elaine Miles Steedley, married August 9, 1941, Sons; Colonel Kerry M. Steedley of Semmes, Al, Rev. Gerry M. Steedley of Landis, Derry M. Steedley of Granite Quarry, Daughter; Sherry S. Connell of Landis, Brother; Zeak Steedley of Alma, GA, 10 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren.
Visitation: 1:00-3:00 PM Saturday at Dayspring Community Church, China Grove and the remainder of the time at the residence.
Funeral Services: 3:00 PM Saturday, Dayspring Community Church, conducted by the Children.
