    Died:
    Mrs. Audrey Fay Revills Rogers
Mrs. Audrey Fay Revills Rogers, 86, died of a stroke. She was born Jan. 6, 1927, in Brooks County, Georgia, to May Hill Wilkes Revills and Julian Seabrook (Brook) Revills and grew up in nearby Cook County.

Fay was a working mother, supporting her family in the 1950s and beyond before child-care facilities and flex time. Over the years, she was employed in administrative positions with businesses and various government agencies.

As a child, she skipped grades to graduate from Sparks-Adel High School at age 15 in 1942 and began work. In 1950, she married WWII veteran Walter Hicks Rogers Jr. The young couple lived in Athens, Georgia, while he completed studies to be a veterinarian and she worked with USDA. The next stop was Graceville, Florida. Moving next to Thomasville, they remained in Georgia for the rest of their lives. Valdosta became home in 1955. There Fay began her career with the Social Security Administration, becoming one of the early female hires as a claims representative.

She retired from government service while living in Gainesville, Georgia, in 1985. Over the years she discovered an interest in investments and followed the stock market avidly. She continued to read, garden, travel and shop for antiques after retiring to Moultrie. In addition to chocolate and desserts, she always enjoyed collecting art glass, and enjoyed trips with friends and family. Destinations included Switzerland, Argentina, England, Scotland, Wales, Mexico, Italy, Japan, Hong Kong, New Zealand and Canada. She also visited New England, New York, San Francisco, Austin, Alaska, Key West, Mobile and the Western U.S. Although she had limited interest in cooking and always advised against "getting fat on bad food," she was open to trying different cuisines and readily shared her recipe for cinnamon toast.

Condolences can be expressed online at www.mckoon.com.

In 2001, Fay and Hicks moved to Wesley Woods Newnan/ Peachtree City. She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, her parents and three brothers Raphael Revills, Ralph Revill and John Revill. She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Rogers of Atlanta and Tracey Rogers of Austin, TX, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.

Donations may be made payable to the Antioch Methodist Church cemetery fund and mailed to Bill Barton, 6783 Old Union Road, Adel, GA 31620.

The family will hold visitation from 2:30-4 p.m. at Wesley Woods in Newnan on Thursday, June 27. Burial will be at Antioch Methodist Church in Adel, Georgia on Saturday, June 29.
