Mr. Samuel Clayton Mitchell, 81, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, at his residence.Mr. Mitchell was born May 8, 1927, in Live Oak, Fla., to the late Clarence Mitchell and Mamie Waldron Mitchell.
He was a heavy equipment operator for a construction company, and a member of the Shiloh Southern Congregational Methodist Church, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Mitchell is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Elizabeth Mitchell.Survivors are three sons and daughters-in-law, Sam and Connie Mitchell, of Portland, Mich., Darrell and Barbara Mitchell, of Owosso, Mich., and Thomas and Georgia Mitchell, of Homerville; and several other relatives.
Services for Mr. Mitchell will be held Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, at 2 p.m. from the Shiloh Southern Congregational Methodist Church.
Internment will be in the Shiloh Southern Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends this evening, Jan. 9, 2009, from the Roundtree Funeral Home, from 6-8 p.m..
