    Rodney "Craig" Barton 64 years old died unexpectedly March 1, 2015 at North Florida Regional Medical Center.

    Craig was born in Lake City, Florida April 18, 1950 to the late William McCormick Barton and Fannie L. Green. Craig attended Columbia County schools and played football for the Columbia High Tigers when they won the State Championship game in 1967. Craig was an electrician by trade but his true passion was hunting, fishing and planting his vegetable garden.

    Craig is survived by one daughter Tessa Pearce (Robert) of Branford, Florida, one son Travis Craig Barton (Danielle) of Telico Plains, Tennessee. He has four grandchildren Christina and Sheeraleena Pearce of Branford, Florida and Lillian and Matthew Barton of Telico Plains, Tennessee. He is also survived by one brother John Barton (Cecile) of Homestead, Florida and two sisters Brenda Barton of Lake City and Elsie Carter (Bill) also of Lake City as well as numerous nephews and nieces.

    A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 1:00PM at Gateway Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Rev. David Sands officiating.
