CHESTER -- Mrs. Viola Taylor Boulware, 83, widow of William Thomas "W.T." Boulware died Monday, January 19, 2009, in Sterling House on Parklane in Columbia, SC.
The funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Chester with Rev. Clay Waldrip officiating. Interment will be in Chester Memorial Gardens.
Born January 21, 1925, in Leeds, SC, Mrs. Boulware was the daughter of the late John Simpson Taylor, Sr. and Maybelle Wilks Taylor. She was a graduate of Monticello High School and a member of First Baptist Church of Chester where she was a former Sunday School teacher, a member of the Women's Missionary Union, chairperson of the Kitchen Committee and the Library Committee and a member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class. She had retired from Belk Department Store after thirty-eight years of service. She was a volunteer for the Chester Regional Medical Center.
Surviving are her daughter, Joyce B. Pundt and her husband, G.C., of Columbia, SC; one son, William Thomas "Tom" Boulware and his wife, Jacqueline, of Kimball, TN; four grandsons, Carl T. Pundt and his wife, Carrie, of Greenwood, SC, M. Alan Pundt of Conway, SC, William T. Boulware, IV and John M. Boulware, both of Chattanooga, TN; three great-granddaughters; two sisters, Essie T. McKee of Chester, SC, and Barbara T. Wood of Hopewell, VA; one brother, James W. Taylor of Lugoff, SC. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Sadie T. Carter and Hazel T. Chafin, and one brother, John S. Taylor.
The family received friends from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie Street, Chester.

Surviving are her husband, Jack A. Carter and son, Donald Carter, both of the home; sisters, Mrs. W.T. (Viola) Boulware, Mrs. Clyde (Essie) McKee, both of Chester, Mrs. J. Kenneth (Barbara) Wood of Hopewell, Virginia; brothers, John S. Taylor of Chester, and James W. Taylor of Lugoff; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Carter was predeceased by a sister, Hazel T. Chafin.

CHESTER - Mr. John S. Taylor Jr., 77, of 1378 Liberty Road died March 18, 2008, at his residence.
The funeral will be 4 p.m. today at Calvary Baptist Church, with the Rev. David Sealy officiating. Burial will be at Old Purity Cemetery.
A native of Chester County, Mr. Taylor was a son of the late John S. and Maybelle Wilks Taylor. He was retired from Bell's Auto Body Work and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and served in local mission work. He was a decorated U.S. Navy Korean War Veteran and widower of Frankie Mobley Taylor.
Surviving are three sisters, Viola T. Boulware and Essie T. McKee, both of Chester, S.C., and Barbara T. Wood of Hopewell, Va.; one brother, James W. Taylor of Lugoff, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Sadie T. Carter and Hazel T. Chafin.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. today at Calvary Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.

Mrs. McKee was born September 7, 1932 in Chester County, SC and was a daughter of the late John Simpson Taylor and Maebelle Wilkes Taylor. She was a graduate of Chester High School and retired from Springs Industries. Mrs. McKee was a member of First Baptist Church of Chester where she was a member of the Dorcas Sunday School class and served on the cooking team.
She is survived by one son, Butch McKee (Sandra) of Chester; one daughter, Lisa McKee Barnes (Shelton) of Sharpsburg, NC; five grandchildren, Tiffany Snipes, Chris McKee, Andrea Whitley, Melissa Griggs and Brad Hopper; eight great grandchildren; one sister, Barbara Wood of Charlottesville, VA; one brother, Jimmy Taylor (Jessie) of Lugoff, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. McKee was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Clyde McKee.
