Gracie F. Johnson, 98, a life-long resident of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, February 28, 2020 at her residence after an extended illness.

She was born on December 28, 1921 in Lake City to the late Amon George Robinson and Alpha Alice Dicks Robinson.

She lived in Lake City all her life and was known for working at most of the Soda Fountain Shops and for her cooking here in Lake City most of her life. She was a member of the Lake City Church of God and in her spare time, she enjoyed walking, cooking, dancing and fishing.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Johnson; her children, Jerry Johnson, Seeber Ray Johnson, Elizabeth Johnson Hill and Mary Evelyn Johnson; granddaughter, Fritzi Hill, great-granddaughter, Reneé Waltrip Faulkner and ten siblings.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Lisa Waltrip (Greg), Wendy Jordan (Robert), Mitzi Hill, Jonathan Hill, Tim Johnson (Kaite), Julie Johnson Carswell (Link), Charlie Shaw, Jerry Johnson, Jr. and Jennifer Johnson. Twenty-two great-grandchildren and fourteen great-great-grandchildren also survive.

A time of visitation and gathering for family and friends will be held on Monday evening, March 2, 2020 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at the Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home.

Private family interment services will follow on Tuesday, March 3, 2020.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be considered to the American Cancer Society.

Mr. Edward Robinson, 85, a lifelong resident of Columbia County passed away Friday morning, November 6, 2015 in the Lake City Medical Center. He was one of eleven children born to the late Amon George “A.G.” Robinson and Alpha Dicks Robinson. Mr. Robinson was a lifelong tobacco farmer and was a skilled block mason as well. He was a member of the Florida Farm Bureau, who enjoyed refereeing softball games, playing the guitar, coon hunting and was an avid “CB” and “HAM” radio enthusiast. Mr. Robinson was an active member of the Watertown Congregational Methodist Church having served on its board for several years.

Mr. Robinson is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Emma Robinson; a son, Dale Robinson (Donna); two daughters, Danette O’Neal (Chum) and Teresa Horne (Skibo); a brother, Carl Robinson (Mary “Mick”) and two sisters, Gracie Johnson and Katherine Creel all of Lake City. Nine grandchildren, Sherri Lynn O’Neal, Gregory O’Neal, Karen O’Neal, Matt Robinson, Christopher Robinson, Corey Robinson, Cody Horne, Cassandra Horne, Zach Horne and eleven great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Robinson will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, November 9, 2015 in the Watertown Congregational Methodist Church with Rev. Randy Ogburn officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 3:00-5:00 in the Chapel of the Dees-Parrish Family Funeral Home.

Mrs. Annie “Pearl” Allinder, 73, a lifelong resident of Lake City passed away peacefully surrounded by her family late Monday evening, March 7, 2011 at the Haven Hospice of the Suwannee Valley.

Mrs. Allinder was one of twelve children born to the late Amon and Alpha Dicks Robinson. She was educated in the Columbia County School system and was a member of the Mason City School graduating class of 1955. Mrs. Allinder worked with Winn Dixie for forty years prior to retiring. In her spare time she enjoyed visiting with her family, going out to eat (especially at Shirley’s) and she very much enjoyed, for the past thirty-eight years, her Thursday hair appointments with Marlene McCray at Styles by Marlene. Mrs. Allinder was a member of the Lake City Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Davis E. “Eddie” Allinder Sr. and six of her siblings.

Mrs. Allinder is survived by her children, Davey Allinder (Jeanie); Lori Dopler (Buddy #2) and Kim Scott (Buddy #1); two brothers, Carl Robinson and Edward Robinson and three sisters, Gracie Johnson, Katherine Creel and Juanell Robinson all of Lake City and her four grandchildren, Lauren Porter (Aaron), Kyle Scott, Austin Thomas (Amber) and Blake Scott. Numerous other family members and friends also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Allinder will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 11, 2011 in the Lake City Church of God with Pastor Carroll Lee officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Mrs. Mary Ann Kirby, 73, of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Saturday May 31, 2014 at the North Florida Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.

She was born on February 11, 1941 to the late Charles Haskell “Hack” Morris and Mae Willie Robinson Morris; she was a lifelong resident of Lake City.

She was a cosmetologist and owned and operated Mary Ann’s beauty salon for many years; she worked for Scheherazade’s Hair Salon until her retirement in 2004. She loved to sing and was a gifted pianist and organist; she also played the accordion. She was of the Pentecostal faith and was a member of the First Full Gospel Church.

She is preceded in death by her sister: Christine Morris Creel and two brothers: Charles Morris and Robert Morris.

She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years: Johnnie Melvin Kirby of Lake City; daughter: Vicki Singleton (Chris) of Sumter, SC; brothers: Edwin Morris of Lake City James Morris (Joyce) of Lake City. Grandchildren: Katherine Grace Singleton and Victoria Anne Singleton both of Sumter, SC and numerous nieces, nephews and other family extended family also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday June 4, 2014 the at the Lake City Church of God with Pastor Stan Ellis officiating. Interment will follow Mt. Tabor Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 5-7p.m. the chapel of the Dees-Parrish Family Funeral Home. The son of the late Charles Haskell & Mae Willie Robinson Morris, Mr. Morris had worked as an insurance agent, managed a full service gas station in Gainesville for several years and worked in corrections in the Juvenile Detention service prior to his ill health. In his spare time he enjoyed working and talking on CB radios and was a very talented guitar player. Mr. Morris was of the Pentecostal faith. He was preceded in death by a son, Charles "Charlie" Morris.

Mr. Morris is survived by his wife of ten years, Christine Moon Morris; a son, Rob Morris (Kim); two brothers, James Morris and Edwin Morris and a sister, Mary Ann Kirby all of Lake City; and his grandchildren, Racquel, Logan, Jordan and Dalton Morris.

He returned to Lake City to work in purchasing at the VA Hospital until he retired. He also worked as an electrician for Norton Home Builders. He was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church. He enjoyed cooking, spending time with friends and family, and watching his grandchildren play sports. He was preceded in death by his father Carl Johnson; his wife Annetta Johnson and his two sisters, Liz Hill and Mary Shaw.

He is survived by his mother, Gracie Johnson, one daughter Julie Carswell (Linc), one son Tim Johnson (Katie), one brother, Jerry Johnson, Sr. all of Lake City, FL. seven grandchildren also survive Alexis Hartsfield (Brian), Tallahassee, FL; Walker Johnson, Caleb, Carlie, and Kylie Carswell, Jackson and Maddyn Johnson, all of Lake City. and one great grandchild Hampton Hartsfield, He is also, survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Shaw was a native of Lake City, Fl., daughter of the late Seeber Carl Johnson and Gracie Robinson Johnson and had made her home in Summerfield, Fl. for the past three years. Prior to Summerfield, she had made her home in Lake City most for most of her life. She was a graduate of Columbia High School, class of 1965, a member of The Suwannee River Church of The Nazarene in White Springs, Fl., and enjoyed fishing, football games and gardening.

Survivors include; One son, Charles Shaw (Karen), White Springs, her mother, Gracie F. Johnson, Lake City, two brothers, Seeber Ray Johnson (Anetta), Lake City, and Jerry L. Johnson, Lake City. One sister, Elizabeth Hill (Fritz), Lake City, three grandchildren, Bre’Anne Shaw, Lake City, Cale Shaw, Lake City, Levi Shaw, White Springs, Fl. and one step granddaughter also survive.

Graveside Memorial Services will be conducted at 11 A.M. Friday, July 9, 2004 at Mt. Tabor Cemetery, South of Lake City, with Reverend, Carroll Lee, Pastor of The Lake City Church of God officiating. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Hospice of The Suwannee Valley, 618 SW Florida Gateway Drive, Lake City, Fl, 32024. Mr. Jerry Lee Johnson, Sr., 69 of Lake City, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2016 at the Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City.

Mr. Johnson was a native and lifelong resident of Lake City and a graduate of Columbia High School class of 1966. Mr. Johnson was also a graduate of the Florida Barber College in 1968 and had worked for the Blanche Barber Shop and the VA Hospital. He was also the owner of Jerry L. Johnson Construction in Lake City. He was a veteran of the United States Army and he retired from the Florida National Guard. Mr. Johnson was a member of Hopeful Baptist Church, the Lake City Masonic Lodge #27, the Scottish York Rite, the Lake City Shrine Club, the B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge of Lake City #893 and the Pounds Hammock Hunting Club.

He was preceded in death by his father, Seeber Carl Johnson and three siblings, Alice Elizabeth Johnson Hill, Mary Evelyn Johnson Shaw and Seeber Ray Johnson.

Survivors include his two children, Jerry Lee Johnson, Jr. (Michelle), Trenton and Jennifer Lynn Johnson Joseph, Blackshear, GA; his mother, Gracie Johnson, Lake City; four grandchildren, Walker Lee Johnson, Lake City, Michael Austin Joseph, Blackshear, Ashleigh Kate Joseph and Anna Grace Joseph all of Blackshear, GA; the mother of his children, Kate Johnson Burch (Dailey), Gainesville.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Rodriguez and Rev. Larry Sweat officiating.

Interment will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service on Sunday from 2-3:00 PM at the funeral home.

Belinda S. Radford
(December 17, 1959 - September 15, 2007)

Mrs. Belinda Sue "Bendy" Radford, 47, of Lake City, died Saturday, September 15, 2007, at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Lake City. Mrs. Radford had worked as a licensed practical nurse for many years in the home health care industry. She also helped to tend bar at the Oasis. In her spare time, Mrs. Radford enjoyed boating and she was "very competitive" when it came to her fishing.

Mrs. Radford is survived by a son, Robert Radford (Adrianne) of Lake Butler, Florida; a daughter, Candace Radford; her mother, Alice Dicks; a brother, Terry R. Dicks; a sister, Cynthia Hale; and her companion, Kenny Kramer all of Lake City. Two grandchildren and several very special friends and caregivers also survive.

The family wishes to invite everyone to Bendy’s home on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. to share in a celebration of her life.
