LAKELAND -- Mr. M.G. Kirkland Jr. of Lakeland died Friday (Jan. 29, 1999) at Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center. He was 71.
Born in Hamilton County on Nov. 24, 1927, he moved to Lakeland form Live Oak 54 years ago. He was an Army veteran. He was a supervisor at Lakeland News Co. He was a member of the Fin and Feather Club. He was a Protestant.
He was preceded in death by his son, David B. Kirkland, and brother, Mitchell Kirkland. He is survived by his wife, Jean Kirkland; daughter, Vicki Reeves, Lakeland; sisters, Maude Jenkins, Kenansville, Agnes Jones, Inez Hicks and Reatha DeIouch, all of Lakeland; and one granddaughter.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Heath Funeral Chapel, 328 S. Ingraham Ave., Lakeland. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Oak Hill Burial Park.
