Deceased Name: Ruth Wilson
Ruth Coggins Wilson, 67, of Cullowhee Mountain Road, Cullowhee, died Monday, Oct. 1, 2001, in Mountain Trace Nursing Center after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) at Melton-Riddle Funeral Home Chapel. The Revs. Johnny Norris and Jim Ed Powell will officiate. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery.
A native and lifelong resident of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Harley and Nell Wilkes Coggins.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Monroe and Harry Lee Coggins.
Surviving are her husband of 31 years, R.O. Wilson; one daughter, Sandra Jacobs of Asheville; three sisters, Stella Parker of Tuckasegee, Katherine Potts of Marysville, Wash., and twin sister, Ruby Coggins of Cullowhee; and two grandsons.
The family was to have received friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at the funeral home.
