CAYCE - Services for Sadie T. Carter will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, June 9, 2003 at Trinity Baptist Church. The family will receive friends in the Narthex between 12-2 p.m. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of Joy I Sunday School Class and Trinity Men's Seniors Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Trinity Baptist Church or Southern Care Hospice, located at 720 Gracern Rd., Columbia, SC 29210, or Palmetto Health Hospice, PO Box 7275, Columbia, SC 29072.
Born in Chester County, Mrs. Carter was the daughter of the late John S. and Maybelle Wilks Taylor. She was a registered nurse, recently retired from Baptist Medical Center. She was a member of Joy I Sunday School Class and a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Jack A. Carter and son, Donald Carter, both of the home; sisters, Mrs. W.T. (Viola) Boulware, Mrs. Clyde (Essie) McKee, both of Chester, Mrs. J. Kenneth (Barbara) Wood of Hopewell, Virginia; brothers, John S. Taylor of Chester, and James W. Taylor of Lugoff; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Carter was predeceased by a sister, Hazel T. Chafin.
