John Dicks and Pearl Tyre Dicks.
He is also preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Austin Autry Rogers, Farrell W. Rogers and Rev. F.T. Rogers.

He is survived by two daughters, Ginger Amonda Rogers Todd and her husband, E.W. "Bud" Todd, Sr. and Elona Dorinda Rogers Roberts Kisala and her husband Louis J. Kisala of Lake City; three grandsons, E.W. Todd, Jr. (Terri), Aaron F. Roberts (Casey) of Lake City, and Joshua M. Roberts of Dallas, Texas; five great-grandchildren, Amonda Jean "A.J." He was a World War II veteran. Shortly after his marriage, he was inducted into the United States Army at Camp Blanding, Florida. He was a Sergeant with the 188th General Hospital and was honorably discharged on January 15, 1946.

After being discharged from the Army he became a manager with the McCrory’s Department store. His job necessitated moving throughout the Southeast with his family before returning to Florida. He then lived in Orange Park, Florida where he worked at Furchgott’s Department store in Jacksonville, Florida. He returned to Lake City in the early 1950’s where he lived the remainder of his life. He retired as a Dispatcher from the Florida Highway Patrol Troop B in 1982, after over 25 years of service.

He was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather and soon to be great-great grandfather. He was also a great cook and an avid gardener. He maintained a beautiful yard when he was able and also cultivated numerous varieties of Daylilies. He loved spending time with his family and his family will miss him dearly. He was a very nurturing person, always helping others. He also loved spending time with his church family and he read his Bible almost every day until he could no longer do so.

Many thanks to the staff of Omni Home Healthcare, Haven Hospice and the VA Medical Centers in Lake City and Gainesville for the care they gave to our father during his last days.
