Ava Caison, 77
Ava Grey Hayes Caison, 77, of Smithfield died Tuesday, Dec. 9, at Liberty Commons in Benson.
Born Sept. 27, 1931, in Robeson County, Mrs. Caison was a daughter of the late John Sabastine and Bessie Lovett Hayes. She was the widow of James R. Caison. For several years, Mrs. Caison and her husband owned and operated the Smithfield Sewing Center. She was a member of Way of Life Baptist Church in Clayton.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 12, at Way of Life Baptist Church. The Rev. L.E. Godwin Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. in Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton.
Surviving is a sister, Quessie Edwards of Emporia, Va.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Way of Life Baptist Church, 2100 Harmony Court, Clayton, N.C. 27520.
