After a bravely fought battle with cancer, Jimmie Dee Womack, beloved husband of Ramona K. Womack, passed away in Nags Head, North Carolina on July 3, 2011.
Jimmie was a proud Air Force veteran serving during the Vietnam era. After his enlistment he was employed by the Department of the Interior as a systems analyst for 35 years retiring in 1999.
In retirement Jimmie and Mona spent many happy hours travelling to Europe and in the United States. He loved the outdoors and spent many hours riding his motorcycle, working in the yard and sitting under his favorite tree listening to the birds. He also enjoyed time with his dogs Sitka and Phoebe.
Jimmie’s last wish was fulfilled when he was taken down to the beach to fish one last time. The last week of his life was spent surrounded by the beautiful and peaceful beaches of the Atlantic Ocean.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Shawgo, and his father James Womack. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Ramona K. Womack, three daughters, Alexa Faulkner (Michael), Valerie Womack, Kara Littleton (Dave) and one son David Hudson (Alice). He had five grandchildren, James and Ian Faulkner, Amanda and Michael Hudson, and Samuel Littleton. There are many family members and friends brokenhearted at the loss of such a wonderful and loving man.
A celebration of his life will be held on July 16, 2011 at the Bethany United Methodist Church in Purcellville, Virginia at 3 o’clock in the afternoon.
