Fay Matthews Milton, age 94, of Macclenny, Florida died Friday, March 25, 2005, in the Frank Wells Nursing Home, Macclenny, Florida following an extended illness. She was born in Hawthorne, Florida and moved to Macclenny, Florida in 1931.

She was proceded in death by her parents, David H. and Flora Turney Matthews, her late husband, William Harold Milton, Sr. and her son, William H. "Billy" Milton, Jr.

She graduated in 1929 from the Florida State College for Women (now Florida State University) with a Teacher's Degree. She taught school in Micanopy, Florida and Glen St. Mary, Florida and other Baker County Schools until her retirement in 1956. After her retirement from school teaching, she opened a Piano Studio in her home and taught many Baker County students for the next 20 years.

Mrs. Milton was a 50 year member of the Macclenny Woman's Club, and served as President and was awarded the State and National Woman's Club Achievement Awards. She also Started a gro up named "Down Memory Lane" at Frank Wells Nursing Home. This group stills gathers every Monday Morning for an hour of music, memories, love and laughter. She was a member of the Macclenny Church of Christ, of which the Milton family were founding members.

She is survived by two daughter, Flo Ann (Rex) Holloway, and Fay (Richard) Sinclair both of Macclenny, five grandchildren, Shelly (Chris) Neri of Macclenny, Lara (Jesse) Manalo of Jacksonville, Amanda (Mauricio) and Ashley Sinclair both of Ponte Vedra Beach and Trey Sinclair of Tallahassee, two great-grand children Jackson and Danny Neri of Macclenny.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 29, 2005, in the Macclenny Church of Christ with Rev. Sam Kitching, officiating and assisted by Mr. Perryman Dennison of Lake City.

Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Macclenny.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday, March 28, 2005, at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, U.S. 90 East, Macclenny, Florida.
