Bessie Carmon Wilkes SCRANTON -- Bessie Carmon Wilkes, 91, of Scranton, SC passed away Friday, June 24, 2016.

Mrs. Wilkes was born April 7, 1925 in Florence County, SC the daughter of the late Leroy and Ellen Lee Carmon. She was a member of Lee's Tabernacle Pentecostal Holiness Church. Bessie and her late husband, Preston Wilkes owned and operated Scranton Caf‚ for over 35 years before retiring.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, June 26, 2016 in the Brockington Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow at Lake City Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 PM Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Lee's Tabernacle Pentecostal Holiness Church 2226 N. Matthews Rd. Scranton, SC 29591 or Grace Free Will Baptist Church 348 Lawrence St. Lake City, SC 29560.

Mrs. Wilkes is preceded in death by her husband, Preston Wilkes; three sisters; two brothers; and her parents, Leroy and Ellen Lee Carmon.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Ann Bellamy of Scranton, SC; a granddaughter, Ladonna (Michael) Beylotte of Scranton, SC; six great-grandchildren, Haley Bellamy, Tara Bellamy, Tiffany Bellamy, Hunter Bellamy, T.J. Bellamy and Kayla Bellamy.
