LAURINBURG -- Ms. Linda Godwin Brock, 50, of Old Lumberton Road, died Wednesday in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. today in Butler Funeral Service by the Rev. Jeff McGirt.

Ms. Brock is survived by a daughter, Nikki Hardin of Rockingham; a son, Tony DeBerry of Laurinburg; her father and stepmother, Ralph and Celeste Godwin of Laurinburg; her mother, Ila P. Godwin of Laurinburg; a sister, Ann Mitchell of Laurinburg; her grandmother, Gladys Caison of Laurinburg; and a granddaughter.

Memorials may be made to Moore Regional Cancer Center, care of the Foundation of FirstHealth, 150 Applecross Road, Pinehurst, NC 28374.

LAURINBURG - Ila Pearl Caison Godwin, 85, entered into the gates of heaven on May 23, 2016 at Morrison Manor.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium Chapel. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Born on Sept. 21, 1930 in Laurinburg, she was the daughter of the late Henry Kitchen "Kit" and Gladys Phipps Caison. She attended Laurinburg High School. She worked at Dixie Anna Mills and retired from Abbott Laboratories. She then worked at Community Drug and was a member of the East Laurinburg Church of God. She loved dining out and shopping with her friends. She also enjoyed cooking for her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter Ann Godwin Mitchell of Laurel Hill, her brothers Charles Caison (Lorraine) of California and Cecil Caison of Laurinburg, her grandchildren Scott Mitchell of Ohio, Brian Mitchell (Tina) of Ohio, Brent Mitchell (Angie) of Laurinburg, Marcus Mitchell of Laurel Hill, Tony Deberry (Josie) of Laurinburg, and Nikki Locklear (Kelly) of Wagram, 14 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she is also preceded in death by her daughter Linda Godwin Deberry Farris, her brother William Harold Caison, her sister Patricia Ellen Caison Robinson, and special aunt Elizabeth Duncan Phipps.

We as a family wish to thank all the people who have helped during this difficult time: her church family, special friends Joyce and Bill Ellis, Bonnie Hunt, Peggy Hunt, Edith Evans and Margaret Breeden, and all the caring staff of hospice for the excellent care and compassion shown to our family. Words can never express what we feel.

Gladys Phipps Caison

Mrs. Gladys Phipps Caison, age 98, went home with her Lord on Friday, November 14, 2008.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Central United Methodist Church where she had been an active member since 1926. The Rev. Quinton Covington will officiate. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.

She is survived by three sons, William Harold Caison and wife, Helen of Bennettsville, Charles H Caison and wife, Lorriane of San Landro, CA, and Cecil W. Caison of Laurinburg; a daughter, Ila Pearl Caison Godwin of Laurinburg; grandchildren, Ann Godwin Mitchell, Ted Robinson, and wife, Debbie, Jeff Robinson and wife, Julie, Nancy Buxton and husband, Mike, Terry Caison, John Caison, Crystal Caison, Chris Caison, Kit Caison, and Kimberly Caison; 18 great grandchildren, and 17 great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Caison was born August 11, 1910 in Horry County, Sc to William H. and Jeanetta Duncan Phipps. She moved to Laurinburg in 1926 where she met and Married Henry Kitchen (Kit) Caison who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a beloved daughter, Patricia Caison Robinson; four grandchildren, Cecil Warren Caison, Linda Godwin Deberry, Angie Caison, and Cingy Caison Freeman; sisters, Elizabeth Phipps, Lottie Mae Britt; and brothers, Clyde Phipps and David Phipps.

Mrs. Caison worked and retired from Waverly Mills. She was also a homemaker who loved working in her flowers and garden. She also enjoyed sewing.

She will be remembered for her faith, caring, and her love for her family.
