Dorthy Lucile Kilgore Casten passed away Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017.
Memorial service: 5 p.m. Saturday, March 11, at the First United Methodist Church, Fort Worth.
Although a lifelong resident of Fort Worth and a descendant of a longtime Fort Worth family, Dorthy will be laid to rest at the Evergreen Cemetery in Lipan, Texas, close to her mother, maternal grandparents, aunt, uncle, and cousin. Memorials:

Dorthy was born March 6, 1948, in Fort Worth, Texas. She was the daughter of Joseph Henry Kilgore Jr. and Norma Lucile Wright Kilgore.
Dorthy graduated from Poly High School, class of 1966. She attended Tarrant County Junior College and earned a BA and MA from Dallas Baptist University. She also received a certification in Web Design and Development from UTA.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth, the Fort Worth Woman's Club, and the Lockheed Blanketeers. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Daughters of the War of 1812, and United Daughters of the Confederacy.
Dorthy retired from Lockheed Martin Aeronautics after a long career in engineering and as a software engineer. Dorthy was also a certified teacher and had worked for the Fort Worth ISD.
Dorthy had many interests, including music of many genres, playing piano and organ, sewing and quilting, collecting/cleaning/overhauling and using vintage sewing machines, as well as World, U.S. and especially Texas history. She enjoyed keeping up with friends, family research. The delights of Dorthy's life were her children and grandchildren. Dorthy loved animals, and counted the animals in her life as family members. Dorthy was plagued by diabetes, suffered a partial foot amputation and heel removal, endured kidney failure and dialysis, and finally received a kidney transplant in 2008.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Joseph M. "Joe" Kilgore and Gerald David Kilgore. Survivors: Husband, Kenneth Kipp Casten of Fort Worth; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Nicole Pugh of Colorado Springs, Colo.; daughters, Megan Price and Brandi and husband, Matthew Price, of Mansfield; grandchildren, Courtney Pugh, Madison, Chloe and Nathan Price, and Jacob and Sophie Price; sisters-in-law, Jerrie Kilgore of Crowley and Sarah Phillips of Joplin, Mo.; many cherished nieces and nephews; countless cousins, extended family members and friends; her fur babies, Luci Grace, Mickey, and Mollie Cat.
